Highest Ever IPL Total To Lowest Ever Final Score- SRH’s tumultuous IPL Saga Comes To An End!!!
Overview:
The culmination of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League was marred by a bland Final encounter that was played out between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. KKR’s formidable pace artillery and aggressive top order batting rendered the SRH lineup helpless, leading the Hyderabad franchise to their second straight humiliating loss in the crucial IPL Finals.
This victory marked KKR’s third IPL triumph and their second IPL victory at the iconic Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, with Sunil Narine being the only player to have appeared in all four Finals that KKR have featured in.

Highest Ever IPL Total To Lowest Ever Final Score- SRH’s tumultuous IPL Saga Comes To An End!!!
Barring the Final match, the Sunrisers from Hyderabad had an incredible campaign with the Orange Army going on to break RCB’s all time high 263 record to become the team with the highest score in a single IPL innings. The Sunrisers hammered a mammoth 272 runs against the mighty Mumbai Indians and then they outdid themselves with their ginormous 287 runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
SRH’s 287 run feat may remain unmatched for years to come.
The opening duo of Abhisek Sharma and Travis Head proved instrumental for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, achieving remarkable milestones throughout the season. Abhisek Sharma was crowned the Super Striker of the Season for his record-breaking 42 sixes, the highest by any batter in the season. Meanwhile, Travis Head emerged as the Power Player of the season, amassing an impressive total of 64 fours.
Despite a stellar season, the Sunrisers failed to get past the finish line on the day of the Finals, ultimately enduring another devastating defeat in the season’s ultimate match.
Batting first, SRH sustained early setbacks with KKR’s bowling duo- Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora providing their captain Shreyas Iyer with the crucial breakthroughs in the powerplay. Though the birthday boy Nitish Reddy tried to stitch together a partnership with Aiden Markram to get SRH back into the game, the men from Hyderabad struggled to maintain momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals. Consequently, they were limited to a disappointing total of 113, that was way below the par score on a pitch that seemed to be conducive for a total well above 180.
The KKR batters literally cruised their way to the humble target and ended up winning the match and their third IPL trophy by 8 wickets. Despite losing Sunil Narine’s crucial wicket early on in the second innings, the Men In Purple remained undeterred and continued to play flamboyantly, eventually chasing down the total with 9.3 overs to spare.
SRH’s tumultuous IPL saga will go down into the books of record as a striking mishap, as the team which once registered the highest total in the history of the tournament ended up scoring the lowest ever total ever witnessed in an IPL Final match.
