The Royal Challengers from “Bengaluru” are reportedly all set to make big changes before IPL 2024 sets in. The franchise might change its name before its opener against Chennai Super Kings on 22nd March.

In a video dropped by the team’s official YouTube channel famous Kannada actor Rishab Shetty can be seen hinting at a possible change in the franchise’s name.
In the video, Rishab can be seen walking past two cows with banners of ‘Royal’ and ‘Challengers’ on their backs but he stumbles upon reaching the horse that had ‘Bangalore’ written on its back and subsequently orders the cow-handler to take the ‘Bangalore’ cow away.

As per the reports, RCB is planning to drop the erstwhile city name ‘Bangalore’ and adopt the new name ‘Bengaluru’.
RCB fans have been long waiting for their franchise to be renamed, ever since the tech city of India was renamed to Bengaluru in 2014.
Many of you reading this are either CSK, MI or KKR fans, just imagine how would you feel about your favorite team being called ‘Madras Super Kings’ or ‘Bombay Indians’ or even ‘Calcutta Knight Riders’, takes that zing away right?.. that is exactly what RCB fans have been experiencing since 2014.
The latest video has left the fans excited for the RCB Unboxing event on 19th March, just two days prior to IPL 2024’s first match.
Therefore, it is quite clear that RCB might have a different full form a week from today.
