Nail Biting Matches 2024:

Starting with Saturday’s match where the SRH were up against the mighty Knights at the iconic Eden Gardens, the fans witnessed a flurry of runs with Russel hitting the SRH bowlers left, right, and center, taking KKR to a mammoth total of 208.

In the wake of the second innings SRH appeared to be precarious as they were losing wickets at regular intervals, but then came the fiery knock from Henry Klassen who took the stadium by storm and scored a flamboyant knock of 63 runs off just 29 balls, which almost sealed the match for SRH. However, Harshit Rana’s astute bowling in the last over of the match where he defended 7 runs in the last five deliveries after being hit for a six on the very first ball, took the game away from SRH and led to a wonderful series opener in their home ground.

Following this high-scoring match on Saturday night, Sunday evening came with a rather low-scoring game with the Gujarat Titans setting a target of 169 for the team led by their last year’s captain-Mumbai Indians.

Though Mumbai lost Ishan Kishan too early in the game, Rohit Sharma and the youngster Naman Dhir were able to stitch together a decent partnership, with Rohit going on to score 43 runs off just 29 balls. Rohit’s crucial knock was followed up by the South African youngster Dewald Brevis who fell short of a half-century by just 4 runs. Mumbai was very much in the game till the penultimate over but then came the splendid spell from Umesh Yadav who went on to take two crucial wickets in the 20th over. Umesh’s over-sealed the match for Gujarat Titans who began their season with a flyer, and Mumbai continued their losing streak in the first match of any IPL season since 2013.
